Fédération Internationale des Jardins Familiaux a. s. b. l. is the most important, European non-profit organisation of national allotment and leisure garden federations with more than 3.000.000 affiliated leisure gardeners and leisure garden families.The Fédération Internationale was founded in Luxembourg on 3rd October 1926.
The Fédération Internationale unifies the national federations from Austria, Belgium, Denmark Finland, France, Germany, Great-Britain, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, Norway, Sweden and Switzerland.Since 2006 the Japanese allotment garden federation (Association for Japan Allotment Garden) is linked to the Fédération by an associative agreement.
The Fédération Internationale has the participative status with the Council of Europe.
